"I call my work figurative abstraction, in which the nature and absurdity of human life resonate.

Radka Bodzewicz’s work exists at the intersection of figuration and abstraction — a space she defines as figurative abstraction. Her paintings explore the boundaries of corporeality and symbol, often emerging as self-contained worlds that prompt introspection and question the nature of perception and experience. For Bodzewicz, the act of painting is both a ritual and a form of transformation. Drawing upon accumulated knowledge and lived experience, her process channels subconscious and conscious layers into a visual language that continues to unfold over time. Her conceptual framework is often informed by long-term engagement with philosophical and scientific literature, which serves as a lens through which she reinterprets everyday existence. She views the canvas as a mental map, a bearer of archetypes and symbols, where material and immaterial forces meet.

Over recent years, Bodzewicz has extended her practice beyond traditional media — integrating augmented and virtual reality into her paintings through mobile applications. This evolving body of work is presented alongside her physical pieces in the form of video art, holographic paintings, and 3D-printed objects, blurring the lines between the tactile and the virtual.
