Žáček’s new exhibition examines the body as an organic machine freed from compassion and sentiment. The paintings, resembling x-ray images, can be seen as diagnostic reality. The artist avoids emotion, but even so, the body is not devoid of corporeality and is even connected with an unsuperficial eroticism.
