Dominika Fišerová a Ondřej Navrátil: The Garden of the Hesperides

25 September - 24 October 2026

Opening on September 24 from 6 PM

A garden is always a space defined by boundaries, possessing its own rules and time. In the joint exhibition by Dominika Fišerová and Ondřej Navrátil, the ancient Garden of the Hesperides does not serve as a reconstruction of a mythological tale, but rather as a metaphor for an imaginary world where humans, animals, and body fragments coexist without the need for a single narrative.

Both artists, coming from the Studio of Figural Sculpture under Vojtěch Míča at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, approach the past as a living material. In their work, inherited motifs and traditional sculptural or painterly techniques enter into new relationships—often with lightness and a touch of humor. The Garden of Hesperides is neither a return to the past nor an archive, but a place where classical imagery acquires a new form and things grow anew.
