In the series of paintings After Faust, Radka Bodzewicz freely expands on her long-term focus, building upon her ongoing exhibition FAUST at the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art in Prague. While her earlier show examined the familiar story through personal individuation, this new body of work turns its attention to the motif of the pact with the devil itself. She perceives the pact as an archetypal image of human choice, desire, and the inner struggle between good and evil—a concept whose essence remains strikingly relevant today. Ultimately, After Faust serves as a visual reflection on the unspoken compromises and quiet decisions that every individual carries within.
