Update is a term that refers to the revision or alteration of an existing state. Its goal is to adjust—or ideally—improve it. It’s an umbrella concept that may cover anything from software innovation to the latest findings in the development of a particular process, or even personal news.
This exhibition, bearing the same title, aims to do essentially that—only applied to the local visual art scene. It presents a selection of visual artists from the youngest generation, who are either still studying or have recently graduated, but whose work is consistent, distinctive, and compelling enough to deserve increased attention. Precisely because it sets new standards.
